MBS seeks an experienced Upper and Middle School choral director to join the Performing Arts Department. The ideal candidate brings a mix of passion, innovation, and creativity that inspires students in grades 6-12. The School values individuals that are collaborative and committed to student-centered instruction and life-long learning.

Requirements

• Demonstrate superior content knowledge
• Encourage a culture of mutual respect and equitable practice
• Ability to teach upper school and middle school chorus classes 
• Prepare students for annual choral performances 
• Produce the upper school play and musical productions
• Direct the middle school musical
• Able to teach middle and upper school choir classes
• Exhibit knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles
• Communicate effectively with students and families about classroom activities and student progress
• Showcase student work within the community
• Scaffold instructional activities that facilitate engaging and appropriate learning opportunities
• Serve as an advisor
• Be open to advising a club or supervising activities
• Be available to work some evenings and weekends when required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.  Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience
